Designed for Fit. Built for Growth.

The modern workplace was not designed for the full range of human thinking. Traditional hiring practices and operational systems often overlook highly capable individuals—not because of a lack of talent, but because of a mismatch in how that talent is recognized and supported.

At the same time, businesses face persistent challenges in retention, productivity, and innovation, often without realizing that the solution is already within reach.

The Idaho Neurodiversity Chamber of Commerce was created to bridge this gap.

We exist to help organizations rethink how they attract, support, and optimize talent—while creating pathways for neurodivergent professionals to thrive without burnout. By aligning business strategy with cognitive diversity, we unlock stronger teams, better performance, and more resilient organizations.

This is not about accommodation—it’s about operational advantage.

Chief Ecosystem Builder

John Shepherd, Founder and Chief Ecosystem Builder, brings over 40 years of executive experience across finance, operations, and nonprofit leadership. Throughout his career, he has worked inside complex, highly regulated organizations—including scaling and directing a $1M/month agency—giving him a deep understanding of how systems function at every level.

But his perspective goes further.

As an autistic (ASD-1) founder and certified neurodiversity coach, John approaches organizational challenges differently. Where many see performance issues or communication breakdowns, he identifies structural friction and cognitive misalignment. His ability to recognize patterns allows him to diagnose the underlying systems that either enable or limit success.

His work is grounded in a core belief:
Most organizational challenges are not people problems—they are design problems.

The Idaho Neurodiversity Chamber of Commerce was built from this insight. By combining executive-level operational experience with lived understanding of neurodivergence, John has created a framework that helps businesses move beyond outdated models and build systems where both people and performance can thrive.
